Mine Action Workshops – 13 &14 June @2024 Killinochchi & Colombo – Sri Lanka In supporting Sri Lanka with implementing its completion strategy, GICHD  recently facilitated three workshops: Completion survey stock-taking, Kilinochchi, Northern Sri Lanka:

To commemorate International Mine Awareness Day, the National Mine Action Center (NMAC) along with MAG, HALO, DASH, SHARP and the Sri Lanka Army Humanitarian Demining Unit participated in a friendly cricket match in Kilinochchi public ground on the 6th of April.

On June 17, 2024, GICHD and NMAC, in collaboration with mine action operators, organized a workshop to plan for Article 5 completion, exploring various scenarios based on funding situations, gaps, and contamination levels.
